Solar Energy
Increasingly high demands are being made on buildings to be energy efficient. This is being driven by 3 key factors including; a growing realisation that energy supplies are not certain, dramatically increasing energy costs and aware ness of the negative environmental effects of CO2 emmissions. As a result, the need for long term environmental and economic solutions is becoming increasingly pressing.
Roofs play a vital role in the energy performance of buildings. Modern roof surfaces need to be
watertight as well as enabling the developer or building owner to take advantage of a range of energy-saving
and energy generation possibilities. These include; durable roof membranes, often with heat reflecting
properties, high performance insulation systems, water recycling systems, water buffering green roofs
and microgeneration technologies such as photovoltaic.
Featured Current Projects
E8 London
Project value: £300,000.00 for 3 blocks.
Project: ICS were engaged on a design & build contract to provide a rainscreen system to a
reinforced concrete frame. The façade has an acoustic and fire performance specification behind
the ACM rainscreen panels meeting residential building regulation requirements.

Hythe, Kent
Project value: £60,000.00
Project: ICS have been engaged to provide a twin skinned roof over a barrel vault profile
structural steel frame. The top skin is formed on site from aluminium coil and lifted to roof
level, here it is clamped to halters, previously fixed, using a 110volt hand seamer running over
the roof. ICS will be fitting polyester powder coated trims in due course - watch this site!
